The **Vantage Circle Agent** works inside Microsoft 365 Copilot, in Teams, Outlook and the other Microsoft 365 apps where Copilot runs. You ask it things in plain words, and it works with your Vantage Circle account.

## Before you start

- Your company has to have the agent turned on. Ask your HR team if you can't find it.
- You need a Vantage Circle account and Copilot in your Microsoft 365 apps.

## Open the agent

1. Open Copilot and pick **Vantage Circle Agent** from your agents.
2. Type a question, or pick a suggestion such as "Recognize someone great" or "Celebrate milestones today".

## Connect your Vantage Circle account

The first time, the agent asks you to sign in.

1. Under **Sign in with Vantage Circle**, enter your **Work email** and select **Continue**. Or enter your **Company address**, the first part of your company's Vantage Circle web address.
2. If your email belongs to more than one company, pick yours under **Choose your organization**.
3. If you're not signed in to Vantage Circle in that browser, you see **Log in to continue**. Select **Open my Vantage Circle portal**, sign in, then come back and select **Continue**. In the Teams desktop app, select **Continue in my browser** to sign in from your browser instead.
4. The next screen, **Authorize Microsoft 365 Copilot**, lists what the agent will be able to do. Select **Approve**.

The agent then acts as you. It can see and do only what your Vantage Circle account can.

## What you can ask

**Recognition**

- Appreciate one or more colleagues.
- Send a greeting card that doesn't appear on the feed. Your company's email-copy settings still apply.
- Wish someone a happy work anniversary. The wish is posted publicly on the feed.
- Nominate someone for an award. The nomination waits for the approvers to decide.
- See who has a birthday or work anniversary today, and upcoming work anniversaries.

**Your own activity**

- Your points, points history and recognition you've given and received.
- Your budget, if you hold one, and your nominations.
- Your gift cards, vouchers and orders. The agent never shows gift card codes or PINs.
- Offers you can use. The agent doesn't show coupon codes or redeem links. Open Vantage Circle for those.
- The leaderboard, the wall of fame and company announcements.

**If you manage people**

- Your direct reports, their recognition activity and their budget use.
- Team members you haven't recognized recently.
- The company values your team recognizes most.

Admins and HR can also see values and top awarding managers by department.

## Post a recognition

The agent never posts on its own.

1. Ask it to appreciate someone, for example "Appreciate Priya Sharma for leading the Q3 launch".
2. An appreciation card opens in Copilot. Check the people, badge and message, and choose who can see the post.
3. Select **Preview & post**, check the preview and confirm.

For greetings, nominations and work anniversary wishes, the agent shows you what it's about to send and waits for you to say yes.

## Disconnect the agent

The agent stays connected until you disconnect it in the app where you connected it. Vantage Circle has no separate page for connected apps.

## If something goes wrong

**"The Vantage Circle assistant integration isn't enabled for your organization. Please ask your Vantage Circle admin to enable it."** Your company doesn't have the agent turned on. Ask your HR team.

**"Recognition insights aren't enabled for your organization in Microsoft 365 Copilot. Please ask your Vantage Circle admin to enable them."** Your company has the agent, but not the team insights. Recognizing colleagues and checking your own activity still work.

**"You've made too many assistant requests. Please wait a minute and try again."** You can make up to 20 requests a minute. Wait a minute.

**"Your access token isn't valid or has expired. Please refresh it or reconnect your Vantage Circle account."** Connect your account again, as in the steps above.

**"There's an issue with your Vantage Circle account. Please contact your administrator."** Your Vantage Circle account isn't active. Ask your HR team.

**Team questions don't work.** Questions about your team only work if you have direct reports in Vantage Circle.
