# Review signals

> Go to Home → Signals and open a signal to see its numbers. Then create a plan from it, add it to a plan, or dismiss it.

Go to **Home → Signals**. The list shows what Action planning found, with the biggest drops first, and the first signal opens by itself. To learn what counts as a signal, see [How signals are found](/en/help/action-planning/signals-and-plans/how-signals-are-found/).

## Narrow the list

- **View** starts on **Priority signals**, which shows only big drops that are still going on. Choose **All signals** to see resolved ones too.
- **Module**, **Focus area** and **Scope** only offer choices that have signals.
- **Status** starts on **Not dismissed**. The statuses are **New**, **In a plan** and **Dismissed**.
- The search box looks at the headline, module, focus area, scope and evidence.

## Open a signal

Select a row to open it. One row is open at a time. You'll see:

- **What the data shows**: the evidence behind the signal.
- **Plans that use this signal**, with a link to each.
- **Baseline** and **Latest**, and a chart of the number by quarter.

## Act on it

Use the buttons in the open row, or the row's menu.

- **Create plan** opens a new plan with this signal already picked as evidence. See [Create an action plan](/en/help/action-planning/signals-and-plans/create-an-action-plan/).
- **Add to plan** opens a panel of plans that are **Draft** or **In progress**, with plans on the same focus area first. Select **Add** next to one. It says **Already added** if the plan has it. A signal can back more than one plan. If there are no open plans, you'll see "There are no open plans yet." and a **Create plan** button.
- **Dismiss** sets the signal aside. It's only offered for **New** signals, so a signal in a plan can't be dismissed. There's no confirmation. Select **Restore** to bring it back.

Dismissing is company-wide. Other admins see the signal as **Dismissed** too.

## The summary on Home

**Home → Overview** has an **Action planning** section with four numbers: **Signals found**, **Open signals** (new and still going on), **Modules with signals** (such as "3 of 4") and **Plans in progress**. Select **View signals** to come here.

## If something goes wrong

**"Could not load signals."**
Select **Try again**.

**"Action planning is unavailable"**
