# Earn cashback on a purchase

> Open Perks → Cashback Stores, choose a store, select Activate Offer and then Go to the store's website. Start with an empty cart and place your order in that same visit.

Points only count when you reach the store from Perks and buy in that same visit. Before you start, empty your cart on the store's website and make sure your browser accepts cookies.

1. Open **Perks** and select **Cashback Stores**. If it isn't there, your company doesn't have cashback offers.
2. Find the store. Use the category and brand filters if the list is long, then select **View offers**.
3. On the offer you want, select **Activate Offer**. If the offer has a code, select **Click to see code** instead and copy the **Coupon Code**.
4. Read the window that opens. The list under **Important steps to ensure your Vantage Points!** is the rules for that store, and some stores add their own terms. Some lists link to a chart of what each product category earns.
5. Select **Go to** and the store's name, for example **Go to Acme Store Website**. The store opens in a new tab. For some offers there's no window and the store opens straight away.
6. Shop and pay in that tab. Let the store's first page and the order confirmation page load fully.

## What stops you getting points

These come from the store rules shown in step 4:

- You had items in your cart before you clicked through from Perks.
- You used a coupon code that came from the store's own email or text message. Only codes shown in Perks count.
- You visited another coupon or price comparison site after clicking through.
- Your browser blocked cookies. Some stores also ask you to turn off ad blockers.
- You paid with a gift card or store credit points. This applies at most stores.
- You placed a second order without going back to Perks. Click through once for each order. One order can have several items.
- You clicked through, didn't buy, and came back hours later. Go through Perks again before you shop.
- The order was cancelled, returned or exchanged, even partly.

## A sale you saw somewhere else

If a store's email or advert shows a sale, you can still get points on it. Don't use the link in that email. Start in Perks, click through to the store and find the product there. Don't use coupon codes from the store's email either.

## After you order

Points are added once the store reports your order. There's no fixed time, because it depends on the store. You'll get an email when they arrive.
