Employee savings is the cashback employees earned, after refunds, plus an estimate of what they saved on exclusive deals. Perks shows the two parts separately on **Overview**, under **What the savings are made of**.

## Cashback

An employee activates a cashback offer and goes to the store. The store reports the order, and part of what they spent comes back to them as points. Perks counts the cashback recorded on those orders, minus refunds and reversals. That's why **Cashback credited by day** on **Analytics** can dip below zero.

The cards count three actions:

- **Activated:** the employee clicked through to the store, so tracking started.
- **Orders reported:** the store told us about a purchase.
- **Credits recorded:** the cashback was added to the employee's account.

These are totals of actions, not people. One activation can lead to several orders, so the numbers don't make a funnel.

**Tracked cashback order value** on **Analytics** is what stores say employees spent. It's not a saving, and it's not money charged by Vantage Circle.

## Exclusive deals

An employee claims an exclusive offer, such as a voucher code, and uses it with the brand. Perks can't see the purchase, so the saving is an estimate. Each claimed offer counts the saving recorded for that deal. If a deal has no saving recorded, it counts as zero, so the real figure is higher. That's why the card says **estimated**.

**Deal views** and **Offers claimed** count different things, so don't read one as a share of the other.

## Points and money

Perks records savings in points and shows them in each country's money, using what a point is worth for your company there. Rupees and dollars can't be added together. If you have employees in India and the US, Overview shows a card for each, and **Analytics** shows one country at a time.

## Progress towards your goal

"% of goal" is savings divided by the goal for the same period. Your goal is set per quarter, so with **12 months** selected, Perks measures you against four quarters' worth. Over 100% means you've beaten it. See [Set your Perks savings goal](/en/help/perks/perks-settings/set-your-perks-savings-goal/).

If your company has no employees in India or the US, there's no goal. Overview says "No savings goal is set: Perks is off, or there are no employees in India or the US."

## Who counts as using Perks

**Employees who used Perks** counts each person once if they had cashback or claimed an exclusive offer in the period. Buying a gift card doesn't count. A first-time user had their first cashback or exclusive offer in the period. A returning user had some before.

## When the numbers update

Perks updates once a day. Every period ends yesterday, because today isn't finished. If the update is late, the page says "This data has not updated as expected" and gives the date of the last update.
