On **Pulse → Questions**, open the menu at the end of a question's row and choose **Manage translations**. The **Question translations** box opens.

## Before you start

Your company needs at least one extra survey language. Admins with Pulse Pro add them in **Pulse → Settings** under **Survey question languages**. See [Pulse settings](/en/help/pulse/pulse-settings-and-access/pulse-settings/). Until then, the box says "No additional survey languages are configured."

## Steps

1. Under **Add translations**, pick one or more **Languages**.
2. Select **Generate translations**. The translations are written automatically, so read each one before you save it.
3. Select a language above the text to see its translation. Edit the question, and the answer choices for a multiple-choice question. Each language shows **Saved** or **Not saved yet**.
4. Select **Save translations**. You'll see "Translations saved."

You can't save until every translated question and answer choice is filled in. The footer says "Complete every translated question and answer choice." until they are.

## Vantage Circle questions

Questions with the source **Vantage Circle** are shared by every company, so their translations are read-only. The box says "This Vantage Circle question is shared by all companies, so its translations are read-only. Create a company question if you need different wording." Select **Add company question** to write your own version.

## What employees see

When a survey starts, employees can pick their language from a list at the top of the survey. The list isn't shown in Microsoft Teams or in demo surveys.

## If something goes wrong

**"Translations could not be generated. Try again."**
Nothing was created. Select **Generate translations** again.

**"Some translations were not saved. Review the languages below and try again."**
Languages still marked **Not saved yet** need saving again.

**"Answer choices could not be loaded. Translations cannot be changed until they are available."**
This only affects multiple-choice questions. Select **Try again**.
