A Boost adds extra points to an award someone has already received. It doesn't create a new post. You see **Boost** only if your company uses it and has given you the Boost role. If you think you should have it, ask your HR team.

## Before you start

- You can boost award posts, including panel awards. Badges, greetings and service milestone posts can't be boosted.
- You can't boost an award you received yourself. You can boost one you gave.
- You can boost each person once per post.

## Boost an award

1. Find the award post on the feed and select **Boost**, the lightning icon under the post.
2. If the award went to more than one person, select **Receiver** and choose who to boost. You boost one person at a time.
3. Under **Choose Amount**, pick an amount. Amounts are shown in that person's currency. If your company has set only one amount, you'll see "You are adding" followed by the amount and the person's name instead.
4. Select **Boost**. The button shows the amount you picked.

You'll see "You have successfully boosted" followed by the person's name. The lightning icon turns gold so you can tell you've boosted that post.

## What the person sees

- The points are added to their reward points straight away. They can redeem them like any other points.
- They get a notification: "<your name> just boosted your recognition with <points> points".
- The post shows a Boost count. Anyone who can see the post can select it to see who boosted.

There's no message with a Boost. If you want to say something, add a comment on the post.

## Where the points come from

Your company chooses whether Boost points come from your own Boost budget or from one central budget. If your company doesn't use budgets, nothing is deducted.

Your company also sets how many Boosts you can give in a period, such as a month or a quarter. It sets how often you can boost the same person in that period, too.

## If something goes wrong

**"You have already boosted <name> for this post."** You can boost each person once per post.

**"Your monthly boost limit is exhausted."** You've used all your Boosts for this period. The word changes with your company's period: quarterly, half-yearly or yearly. You can boost again when the next period starts.

**"You have already boosted <name> the maximum allowed times this month."** You've reached the limit for that person this period.

**"Insufficient budget."** The budget that pays for Boosts doesn't have enough points in that person's country. Ask your HR team.

**"Boost is not configured for the following country(ies):"** followed by a country. Your company hasn't turned on Boost for where that person works.

**"Boost configuration is not available."** Boost isn't fully set up for your company. Ask your HR team.

**"You cannot boost this employee at the moment due to organization settings."** That person can't be boosted because of a company setting. Choose another person on the post, if there is one.
