# Send a greeting

> Select Greet on your home feed, choose who to wish, pick a greeting and write a message. Greetings are private: they reach the people you chose and don't appear on the feed.

You'll see **Greet** on your home feed only if your company uses greetings.

1. Select **Greet**.
2. Under **Want to greet your colleague(s)?**, search by name or email and select people. Select **Next**.
3. Under **Select a Greeting**, pick a card. Use **Category** to find one for the occasion, such as a birthday. Select **Next**.
4. Write your message under **Wish Message**. It appears in the email the person gets. You have up to 1,000 characters. Add tags if your company uses them.
5. If your company allows it, select **Schedule this post** and pick a date. Otherwise the greeting goes straight away.
6. Select **Post**.

The people you greeted get an email with their name in the subject, such as "Ananya, you have been wished". Greetings are always **Private**, so they don't show on the feed.

To see greetings you've sent or received, select **Greetings** in the panel on the left.

## If something goes wrong

**You don't see Greet.** Your company doesn't use greetings.

**"Please don't spam post. If not try again."** You sent the same greeting to the same people less than a minute ago. It has probably already gone.

**"More then 50 receivers are not permissible."** Reduce this greeting to 50 people.
