When you send a badge or nominate someone for an award, you choose who can see the post. The choice is a menu next to the send button. Hover over the info icon by each option to see its description.

| Option | Who sees the post on the feed | Who sees your message on the feed |
|---|---|---|
| **Shared** | Everyone in your company | Everyone |
| **Restricted** | Everyone in your company | Only the people you recognized |
| **Private** | Only the people you recognized | Only the people you recognized |

Visibility controls what appears on the feed. Recognition emails can also go to people added with **Add Cc**, and to people your company has set up to be copied.

The descriptions on screen also say who's notified:

- **Shared:** "This post is visible organization-wide, and notifications are sent to recipients, tagged users, and other relevant users."
- **Restricted:** "The post is public, but the message is receivers-only. Notifications are sent to recipients and relevant users, excluding tagged ones."
- **Private:** "The post is exclusively visible to the recipient(s), who will be notified via email."

A few things to know:

- **You might not see all three.** Your company can limit the options, and each award can have its own.
- **Private posts skip the preview.** The button says **Post** and sends it straight away. The other two show **Preview** first.
- **Award posts wait for approval.** A nomination only reaches the feed once it's approved, using the option you chose.
- **Greetings are always private.** They go to the people you greet and never appear on the feed.
- **Business justification is never on the feed.** Approvers read it with your nomination, and it can also appear in admin recognition reports.

## When someone recognizes you

You get an email, such as "You were appreciated" for a badge or "Congratulations on receiving 'Star Performer'" for an award. If you can't find it, check your spam or junk folder.

To see everything you've received, open your home feed. In the panel on the left, select **Awards**, **Badges** or **Greetings** under your name.

These steps are for the web.
