A CSV file gives budget to many people in one go. All the points come from one country's company wallet.

## Before you start

- You need to be a super admin, or an HR admin whose role includes **Allocate reward budgets**.
- Everyone in the file must have an account and an admin role that includes **Award points**. If even one person doesn't, the whole file is rejected. See [Roles and permissions](/en/help/company-admin/roles-and-permissions/).
- A file can have up to 100 people. Some accounts have a higher limit. The file must be under 5 MB.
- The total of the file must fit in the country's **Available in company wallet**.

## Upload the file

1. Go to **Rewards Hub → Budgets**. Pick one **Country** and the **Current** budget cycle.
2. Select **Allocate with CSV**.
3. Check **Budget type** and **Country**. They start on what you picked on the page.
4. Select **Download CSV template**. It has three columns: `employee_id/email_id`, `reason` and `amount`.
5. Add one row per person: their email address or employee ID, a short reason such as "Budget top-up", and a whole number of points. Save it as a CSV file with a name you haven't uploaded before.
6. Select **Choose CSV file** and pick your file.
7. Turn on **Send email to receivers** if each person should get an email about their budget. It's off by default.
8. Select **Upload**.

You'll see "Bulk allocation uploaded". The file is then processed in the background, so the list can take a moment to show the new budgets. Reload the page to check. You get an email with a summary when the file has been processed.

## If the file is rejected

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Row 3: expected employee ID or email, reason and amount" | Fill in all three columns on that row. Up to 20 rows are listed. |
| "Row 3: amount must be a whole number" | Remove decimals, spaces and currency signs from the amount. |
| "2 user(s) are not registered in the system." | Check the emails and employee IDs. Remove anyone without an account. |
| "2 user(s) are not eligible budget holder(s)." | Give those people a role with **Award points**, or remove them. You also get an email listing them. |
| "No of entries in the csv should be less then or equal to 100" | Split the file and upload each part with a different name. |
| "Insufficient Budget" | The total is more than the country's company wallet. Lower the amounts. |
| "The selected file is already submitted for processing" | A file with this name was uploaded before. Rename it and upload again. |
| "… is over the 5 MB limit" | Split it into smaller files. |

Nothing is allocated from a rejected file, so you can fix it and upload it again.

If your company has more than one fund, CSV uploads currently take points from the **Rewards** fund, whatever you choose in **Budget type**.
