Vantage Circle

Can I hide my birthday or work anniversary from the feed?

Not by yourself on the web, for most companies. Ask your HR team. You can turn off birthday and wedding anniversary emails, and the retirement book if your company has one, in My Account Preference.

For most companies, there’s no setting on the web that lets you hide your own birthday or work anniversary post. If you don’t want them shown, ask your HR team.

A few companies do show Show my birthday on social feed on your profile. If you see it, turn it off and select Save Changes.

What you can turn off yourself

Open your profile menu at the top of the page, select View Profile, then the My Account Preference tab. Turn off what you don’t want, then select Save Changes:

  • Receive email notification on my birthday
  • Receive email notification on my marriage anniversary
  • Activate Retirement Book communication in the platform. This only appears if your company has retirement books.

The first two stop the emails only. Your birthday post can still appear on the feed.

What turning things off changes

  • Birthday post off: your birthday isn’t posted on the company feed.
  • Work anniversary post off: your anniversary isn’t posted, and no service yearbook is started for you, so colleagues aren’t asked to write in one.
  • Retirement book off: no retirement book is made, and you don’t get the emails about your retirement gift catalog. You can still open the catalog yourself. See Choose your milestone gift.
