Set up a milestone catalog
A milestone catalog is the list of gifts an employee can pick from for one work anniversary, in one country. Set it up in the milestone award's Reward catalog step, or in Rewards Hub → Catalog → Milestone catalog.
A milestone catalog is the set of gifts an employee can choose from when they reach a work anniversary, for example 5 years in India. They pick one gift, and it doesn’t cost them any points. If there’s no catalog for their years and country, they use the full rewards catalog instead.
Each catalog covers one number of years in one country, because gift prices vary by country. It’s shared by every milestone award with the same years and country, so a change in one place changes it for all of them.
Set it up in a milestone award
- Go to Recognition → Service milestone → Milestone awards. Select Add milestone award, or open an award and select Edit.
- On Years of service, turn on Enable a catalog for this milestone. This adds a Reward catalog step.
- On Reward points, choose the countries for the award. The catalog can only cover those countries.
- On Reward catalog, pick a country under Choose a country.
- Under Reward source, choose where the gifts come from, then pick them (see below).
- Select Add to review. The country now shows Ready to save. Repeat for each country you want a catalog for.
- Select Continue, check Milestone catalog on Review, and save the award. The catalog is saved with it.
Countries you don’t set up keep their existing reward setup.
Choose the gifts
- Curated: the gifts available in that country appear as cards. Select View details to read about one. Select the cart button to add it; it then shows Added. Pick at least one. Each gift can only be used for one number of years at a time in a country, so gifts used by another milestone aren’t shown.
- Amazon: only offered for the United States and Canada. For each deal, choose a category under Select a category, a Min price and Max price, and All or Specific brands under Select brand(s). Currently matches shows how many products fit. Maximum budget is optional. If you set it, both prices must stay within it. To add more, select Add another deal. Available products change over time.
If a country already uses the Global Catalog, you’ll see Existing reward source: Global Catalog. To make a curated catalog there, remove the existing one first in Rewards Hub → Catalog → Milestone catalog.
Set it up in Rewards Hub
If your company has Service milestone, Rewards Hub → Catalog has a Milestone catalog tab that lists every catalog by milestone and country.
- Select Create milestone catalog.
- Choose the Catalog type. Anniversary is for work anniversaries. Retirement appears if your company has a retirement program.
- For an anniversary, choose the Tenure. Then choose the Country and the Reward source, and pick the gifts as above.
- Select Save mapping.
When you edit a catalog here, the tenure and country are fixed. To use them for something else, create a new catalog. Remove mapping deletes a catalog. Employees in that country then use the full rewards catalog for that milestone, and nobody loses points. You can’t undo it.
See what people chose
Go to Rewards Hub → Reports and open Milestone Redemption Report. Filter by Country and Date Range, select Generate report, then Download CSV or Download Excel. It lists each employee, the milestone year, the redeem date, the country and what they chose.
Employees choose their gift on their side of Vantage Circle. Point them to Milestones and celebrations.
If something goes wrong
- Turning the catalog off. In a milestone award, turning off Enable a catalog for this milestone asks you to confirm with Turn off catalog. Saving then removes the catalogs for those years and countries, including for other awards that share them. Select Keep catalog to back out.
- “Configure rewards for at least one country, or turn the catalog off.” Add at least one country with Add to review.
- “Add your country changes to the review before continuing.” Select Add to review or Cancel for the country you’re editing.
- “No countries are available here …” Choose countries on the Reward points step first.
- “This catalog sets budgets by years of service, which can’t be edited here.” That catalog keeps working for employees as it is.
- “Milestone award saved. Changes could not be saved for: Catalog.” Your changes are still on screen. Save again.
- An employee says they can’t pick a second gift. That’s expected: one gift per catalog. They see “Sorry, you have already redeemed a gift from this catalog.”
