Move points to another country's wallet
After HR changes your country, select your profile picture → Points Transfer, then Transfer next to your old country. The whole balance moves, converted at today's rate, less a 5% service charge.
Your points are kept in a separate wallet for each country. You can only spend the points in the wallet for the country in your profile. When you move country, your old points stay in the old wallet until you move them across.
Before you start
- Your HR team changes your country. You can’t change it yourself. Current Location in your profile menu only changes your city within the same country.
- Your company uses points transfer. If it doesn’t, you won’t see Points Transfer anywhere. Ask your HR team.
Move your points
- Select your profile picture at the top right, then Points Transfer. You can also go to View Profile and, under Points, select Points Transfer.
- The page lists each other country where you have points, with its Wallet Name, Country and Points Available. Select Transfer next to the one you want.
- Check the details. You’ll see a line such as “2000 points (INR 2000) in India are equivalent to 2280 points (USD 22) in United States”. The second number is what you’ll get.
- Select Transfer.
You’ll see “You have successfully transferred your points.” The points are in your new country’s wallet straight away. Your Points Statement shows a row such as “Points Transferred from India to United States”.
If you have points in more than one old country, transfer each wallet separately.
How the points are worked out
- Your old points are turned into your old country’s currency, at your company’s rate for that country.
- That amount is turned into your new country’s currency, at the exchange rate on the day you transfer.
- The new amount is turned back into points, at your company’s rate for your new country.
- A 5% service charge is taken off. The number on screen already has it taken off.
Things to know
- All or nothing. The whole balance of a wallet moves. You can’t move part of it.
- No undo. Once points are moved, the old wallet is empty.
- Points you don’t move stay in the old wallet. You can’t spend them while your profile is in another country. Any expiry date still applies. See When your points expire.
If something goes wrong
“You do not have points available in other country”. None of your other country wallets has points in it. If you expected some, ask your HR team to check your country.
“You do not have enough points to transfer”. The old balance is too small to make at least one point in your new country. Transfer stays greyed out.
An error such as “Could not find transferable points.” The transfer didn’t happen, and your points are where they were. Refresh the page and try again. If it keeps failing, ask your HR team.
An old country you expected isn’t listed. Today’s exchange rate for that currency couldn’t be found, so the wallet isn’t shown. Try again later. If it’s still missing, ask your HR team.
Your new country’s points don’t show in the top bar. Sign out and sign in again so your profile picks up the new country.
