How do I create a Vantage Pulse survey?

Creating a Vantage Pulse survey is quick and straightforward. The survey creation wizard guides you through six steps: Build Your Survey, Scheduling, Frequency, Audience, Email Invitation, and Preview & Launch.

To begin, click the Create Survey button in the left navigation bar of the HR Admin Dashboard.

Step 1: Build Your Survey

  • Enter a Survey Name and an optional description.
  • If the survey is intended for deskless or frontline employees who don’t have company email access, toggle on QR / Kiosk Mode.
  • Select your questions from the Question Bank. The library contains 34 validated questions across 10 engagement categories: Relationship with Manager, Relationship with Peers, Autonomy, Recognition, Compensation & Benefits, Personal Growth, Engagement, Alignment, Wellness, and Work Environment.
  • You can also start from a pre-built template or add custom questions.
  • Click Next to proceed.

Step 2: Scheduling

  • Choose the Start Date for the survey.
  • Set the survey Duration: the total period over which questions will be distributed to employees.
  • Click Next to proceed.

Step 3: Frequency

Choose how often survey questions are sent to employees. The available options are:

  • Daily: questions sent every day
  • Weekly: questions sent once a week
  • Fortnightly: questions sent every two weeks
  • Monthly: questions sent once a month
  • One-Time: the entire survey is sent in a single batch

The frequency works in combination with the duration you set in the previous step. For example, a Weekly frequency over a three-month duration distributes questions once a week for three months.

Click Next to proceed.

Step 4: Audience

Define who receives the survey. You can target employees:

  • By Segments: filter by Department, City, Gender, or Onboarding status
  • By Email: enter specific email addresses
  • By CSV Upload: upload a CSV file for large or custom groups

You can also exclude specific groups from receiving the survey. Click Next to proceed.

Step 5: Email Invitation

Choose and customise the survey invitation email. Four preset templates are available:

  • Pulse Survey: general engagement
  • Mental Health: wellbeing and stress
  • Work Culture: values, environment, and team dynamics
  • Back to Office: return-to-workplace readiness

Select the template that best fits your survey’s purpose and make any necessary edits. Click Next to proceed.

Step 6: Preview & Launch

Review the survey as employees will see it. Once you are satisfied, click Launch to activate the survey. From this point, Vantage Pulse handles distribution automatically on the scheduled dates and frequency.
