DE&I in MENA: Beyond Policies to Meaningful Outcomes

DEI conversations in the MENA region are often shaped by a wide mix of local realities, organizational priorities, and global influences. And because the region is so diverse, inclusion can mean very different things depending on the context. So before jumping into solutions or best practices, it’s useful to first pause and explore how inclusion is actually understood and experienced within MENA workplaces today.

So to help us unpack this from a grounded, regional perspective, we'll be joined by Jihan ElSaghir. Jihan works as a Regional HR Partner for Pharma across the MENA region, where she’s closely involved with people strategy, leadership, and inclusion across diverse markets.

Jihan El Saghir is an HR professional focused on driving high-impact people strategies and influencing organizational transformation with clarity, empathy, and business acumen. With 15 years of experience spanning diverse industries and complex multinational environments, she has developed strong expertise as an HR Business Partner supporting organizations across MENA, with a focus on aligning people strategies to business priorities.

Currently Jihan serves as the Regional HRBP Pharmaceuticals - MENA and the Country HRBP – KSA at Bayer. Her approach blends strategic planning with hands-on execution. She is known for championing dynamic operating models, enabling leaders to navigate change confidently, and aligning talent levers with long-term business ambitions. Jihan’s portfolio includes designing culture-building programs, leading end-to-end talent development cycles, accelerating DEI agendas, and strengthening workforce planning across multiple markets.
